ABOUT US

THE WORD FOR BRAZIL is the new name of a ministry firmly established in Brazil since 1977. It was founded by Dr. Alaor Leite, a Brazilian who had a vision to serve the Lord through publications in a country where the people hunger for knowledge through literature. This ministry was also known as Brazil Publications Ministry, Christian Life Ministries and Christian Life Publishing.

The church of the Lord in Brazil is small (roughly 6,000 faithful), but THE WORD FOR BRAZIL has a large dream for the expansion of the Kingdom. Through its efforts in publishing, training, evangelism and Internet, THE WORD FOR BRAZIL utilizes the power of prayer and dedicated Christians to attain grand victories for Jesus our Savior.

THE WORD FOR BRAZIL is led by Sidney Leite, the son of Dr. Alaor Leite and Miriam Leite. Sidney is a Oklahoma Christian University graduate, who loves books and seeks innovative ways to get Christian literature into the hands of people.

THE WORD FOR BRAZIL is an award-winning ministry, having won the recognition of the publishing sector in Brazil for four consecutive years. Since its founding, nearly 25 years ago, this ministry has strived to seek excellence in all its affairs. For this quarter of a century, THE WORD FOR BRAZIL has had a reputation for a professional approach to publishing, solid biblical teaching, methodical evangelistic techniques and serious dedication to Jesus Christ.

THE WORD FOR BRAZIL is sponsored and overseen by Central Church of Christ (Amarillo, TX) with a special contribution by Westover Hills Church of Christ (Austin, TX). These two congregations have decades of involvement with the work in Brazil, having supported dozens of missionaries and countless missionary efforts. Our sponsors have contributed throughout the years in the establishment of dozens of congregations in Brazil. Central Church of Christ, for instance, is the sponsoring and supporting church of Continent of Great Cities.
